Sixto Porras is the Regional Director of Enfoque a la Familia for the Hispanic World, an organization dedicated to the preservation of the families, with the purpose of strengthening the home. Enfoque a la Familia is also a recognized entity by the Economical and Social Counsel of the UN as a special advisor.
Sixto studied law at the University of Costa Rica.
He has produced more than 10.000 radio and Television programs, which are aired in more than 38 countries. He is frequently cited as an expert source by Television news stations, newspapers, magazines and other means of communication about family related subjects in countries like Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Spain, Honduras, Peru, Dominican Republic, Paraguay and Uruguay, among others.
He has been the main speaker in seminars about family topics,
youth, personal development and parent – children communication, in all
Central and South American countries, as well as Belgium, the United
States, Spain, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
Sixto has also been invited to speak before the governments of Costa
Rica, Colombia, Paraguay, Guatemala, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto
Rico, Chile, El Salvador and Venezuela, in conferences, family related
theme seminars, sexuality, adolescence, youth and communication.
He has also been invited before the congress of Nicaragua and Honduras
to speak about family public policy issues. He also has been invited by
the Health Commission to the Senate of the Oriental Republic of
Uruguay, the Family Commission of the Republic of El Salvador, and the
children’s, youth and family matters commission of the Republic of
Costa Rica.
Porras is a special ad-honoren advisor to the Congress of the Republic
of Costa Rica since 1998, and has also been invited as lead speaker
before the Diplomatic Missions of Latin America, credited before the
United Nations in New York.
In 2008 he won the National Values Commission Award-Rogelio Fernandez
Güell in Costa Rica, for his work in favor of preserving values and
principles in families.
Sixto is married to Helen, and they are the proud parents of sons Daniel and Esteban.
